Mary E.
Tippitt Memorial Library
was a given to the people of
Townsend in 1997 by the Charles
Tippitt family in remembrance of
Mary E. Tippitt, their wife and
mother. Starting with a collection
of 5000 books, the library has grown
to a current total of items
numbering over 21,900.
